Meet Mrs. Lauen Tyler, our January Teacher of the Month at TJHS. Mrs. Tyler teaches fifth grade and is also involved in the Homework Help program and District Leadership Team. She teaches because she loves building relationships with students and seeing the "a-ha" moments. She is most happy when she sees her students progress in their academic coursework.
Our January support staff members of the month are the TJHS Social Emotional Learning counselors Ms. Ashley Whitehead and Mr. Doug Bowsher. Ms. Whitehead loves working with kids this age and being able to see them as they grow and change. Her favorite time of year is the end of the year Luau as she interacts with the kids in an all fun, no pressure environment.
Mr. Bowsher enjoys interacting with the students and helping to make their lives better in every way. He loves seeing struggling kids turn it around and have some success with their hard work. A big thanks to both of our SELs as they connect with students on a daily basis!
