TAYLORVILLE SCHOOL DISTRICT ANNOUNCES REGISTRATION
TAYLORVILLE –Taylorville Community Unit Schools has announced the details for the 2022-23 school registration.
Registration for Returning Students - online registration starts Monday, July 18, 2022. The primary guardian should log in to the district’s Skyward Family Access page at www.tcusd3.org. Parents or guardians needing a log-in ID and password may call their school to obtain this information. On August 4 from 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and August 5 from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. the schools will be open for registration for those parents who were unable to complete the process online. Assistance will be available for those with no computer experience. There will be no paper registration for returning students.
Health, dental, and vision exam forms and elementary and junior high supply lists are available on the district website at www.tcusd3.org on the registration page.
If you complete the online registration and pay student fees with a credit card, you do not need to do anything else; your child is registered for school. All discipline code handbooks are available on the district website and the high school student handbook will also be on the district website.
Once again, the District will be using Skyward’s Fee Management System. Parents will be able to see their child’s fees, and pay online by MasterCard or Visa. This system integrates directly with the RevTrak system that is already in place. Skyward and RevTrak are secure, user-friendly websites. If you wish to pay your fees with cash or a check, you will need to contact your child’s school to schedule an appointment to pay the fees or mail the payment to your child’s school at the address below to finish the registration process.
Registration for New Students and Kindergarten Students – contact your child’s school to schedule an appointment to get registered. Families new to the district should be prepared to show two forms of proof of address, such as a driver’s license, utility bill, mortgage/lease document, or bank statement.

Elementary Registration Fees
Kindergarten – 2 - $70

Chromebooks - Included in Registration fee. Exception – students that qualify for free or reduced lunch must pay a reduced fee of $50 for Chromebook use if taken home. If you do not pay the $50 fee, your child will have a loaner that can be used during the school year but it must remain at school and can’t be taken home.
High School Registration Fees
Freshman – Senior – Registration $100
Chromebooks– included in the Registration fee. Exception – students that qualify for free or reduced lunch must pay a reduced fee of $50 for Chromebook use if taken home. If you do not pay the $50 fee, your child will have a loaner that can be used during the school year but it must remain at school and can’t be taken home.
Athletic Participation - $150 (for students who are selected to a team)

Meal Prices
Students grade K-12 will receive a free breakfast and free lunch meal (entrée, fruit, vegetable and milk) daily.
Foodservice Ala Cart items are available for all students at an additional cost.

For families of students needing financial assistance, applications for the free/reduced meal program and fee waivers will be available on the district website.
Transportation
If your child needs bus transportation to school this year, please complete the transportation step during online registration. You must do this before July 31 if you want to do it online. Starting August 1, you will have to go to your child’s school and fill out a paper form. Student transportation forms received after August 3rd will not be eligible for transportation until August 22nd.
Pre-K
To enroll your child in preschool, please call 217-824-5050 or email lcreighton@tcusd3.org in order to sign up for a preschool screening. Screening forms are to be completed online. If you prefer to fill out paper copies, or would like in person assistance, please make an appointment or email your request.
Elementary
Students will be assigned as follows: Students Grades K-2 will attend North School (217-824-3315); Students Grade 3 & 4 will attend Memorial School (217-287-7929).
Students entering Kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before September 1 of the current school year. All students entering Kindergarten or those new to Illinois are required to have a physical (must include lead screening), dental and vision exams. Second grade students are also required to have a dental exam. Dental and vision exam waivers are available for children who meet certain conditions. Kindergarteners must also show proof of being up to date on required immunizations, which includes the chickenpox vaccine.
Meet the Teacher night will be held for 1st and 2nd grades at North on Monday, August 15 from 5:00-6:30 p.m. Kindergarten students will attend with an adult for one hour on the first day of school, August 16. You may call the office (217-824-3315) to schedule a time for your kindergarten session. First Day Kindergarten Sessions will be 9:00-10:00, 10:30-11:30, and 12:30-1:30.
Meet the Teacher night will be held for 3rd and 4th grades at Memorial on Monday, August 15 from 5:00- 6:30 p.m.
Taylorville Junior High School
Junior High students new to the district are asked to contact the Junior High office at (217)-824-4924 before Tuesday, August 2 so that transcripts from previous schools can be obtained prior to registration.
On August 8-12, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. the Jr. High will be open so students can come and practice opening their lockers, pick up their schedules and purchase PE Clothes.
An orientation for the Class of 2030 will be held to acquaint students with the school, daily procedures, teachers, classes, and lockers. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend. Fifth grade “Meet the Teacher Night'' is scheduled for Monday, August 15 in the TJHS gymnasium from 6:00-6:45 pm. TJHS families may enter beginning at 5:45 pm. Please be sure to collect your door prize tickets and while the fifth students are getting acquainted with their teacher, classroom, and classmates. We will draw for prizes and have a designated time for Q & A with the administrators, Mr. Bruder, Mrs. Wise, and Mrs. West.

Taylorville High School
High school students new to the district are asked to contact the High School office (217)-824-2268 before August 1 so that transcripts from previous schools can be obtained and paperwork can be filled out. Paper registration packets for new students only will be available at the high school beginning July 18.
Student portraits and pictures for the yearbook will be taken by Tommy Photo during the first weeks of school. School-appropriate attire is required. Portrait packages and information will be emailed to students prior to the beginning of the school year.
THS students who plan to drive to school must complete a parking tag registration form and pay the $40 fee as part of the registration process. Please note: all student fees must also be paid before the student can receive their parking tag. Parking tags will not be distributed during registration. Parking tags will be issued from Mr. Keller’s office (Student Services) Monday, August 8 (Seniors), Tuesday, August 9 (Juniors) and Wednesday, August 10 (Sophomores), from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
All ninth grade students are required to have a physical examination and dental exam prior to the start of school and must show proof that they have received their required booster immunizations. Junior/Senior – second dose of meningococcal vaccine (MCV4) after turning 16 years of age. In addition, students new to Illinois are required to have a vision exam. Dental and vision exam waivers are available for children who meet certain conditions. Completed forms may be turned in prior to or on the first day of school.
FRESHMAN ORIENTATION
The “Tornado Drill” freshman orientation will be held on Thursday, August 11 beginning at 9:00 a.m., for all incoming THS 9th graders and students who are new to the district This orientation will acquaint students to the school building, daily procedures, teachers, classes, and lockers. Activities for the orientation will include a building tour, meetings with administration and staff, and a mini-schedule of their day. A sack lunch will be provided.
As part of the Tornado Drill, freshman students will be taking school pictures for yearbook. Students should wear school appropriate attire.
BEGINNING OF SCHOOL
The 2022-23 school year will open on Monday, August 15 with a workshop for all personnel of the district on August 15 and 16. The first day of student attendance will be Wednesday, August 17.
