Yesterday current and past board member representatives of the Taylorville Public Schools Foundation presented a $25,000 check to the Taylorville Community Unit School District #3 for the auditorium and field house capital project. The funds were a combination of a restricted endowment from the estate of Eleanor “Ele” A.G. Kammerer for the construction of a pavilion for the performing arts and the remainder was supported by the Foundation’s operating budget for the 2022-23 school year. Ele Kammerer, the aunt of retired District #3 educator, Susan Jackson, was a generous and benevolent spirit who gifted these funds upon her death to the Schools Foundation for this purpose. As a 501©3 non-profit organization, the Schools Foundation hosts an annual Spring Fundraiser, makes an annual appeal and accepts legacy gifts with either a restricted or unrestricted purpose. The Schools Foundation exists to support the TCUSD #3 through mini-grants, all school grants, a district-wide grant and an annual fund-a-need project.
